Welcome to Rasmus Realty! Let me introduce myself, I am Joyce Rasmus, Co-Owner/Broker Associate. I am a member of NAR, IAR, NWIA Board of Realtors, and Storm Lake /Cherokee MLS. I have served on the local MLS and on committees of the local Board of Realtors.
We, my husband and I, started our dream venture into real estate in September 2002. I take pride in our business motto “Our Strong Family Beliefs and Values are the Key to Your and Our Success.” I strive to guide my clients and customers through a smooth experience when looking to buy or sell a property. I want each and every one to know I am always here for any question or concern. I also take pride in the fact that our office covers a 30+ mile radius with Cherokee as its center.
We both were raised in the Cherokee area. My husband, Kurt, and I have lived south of Cherokee in the Holstein community for the past 30 years, where we raised our 3, now grown and married, children. We are blessed to have 8 grandchildren.
I look forward to a great professional relationship with all my customers and clients while leading them through their venture of buying and/or selling a property. I always welcome suggestions and criticism to better my services.

Hi I am Kurt Rasmus, Co-Owner and Broker of Rasmus Realty and Auction Company. My wife and I started Rasmus Realty and Auction Company in September of 2002. We are a family values business as our motto states! Our Strong Family Beliefs and Values are the Key to Your and Our Success. I have been in real estate since 1999. I belong to NAR, IAR, NWIA Board of Realtors and the Storm Lake/Cherokee MLS.
I was in the Ag Industry, prior to real estate. During that time, I served on the local Farm Bureau Board as President, Vice President and Campaign Chairman. I served on the local Pork Producers Board as President, Vice President, Grilling Chairman and on the State Research Committee.
My wife and I have lived in and around the Cherokee area all our lives. We raised 3 children in the community of Holstein, who have blessed us with 8 terrific grandchildren! From one generation to the next in both family and business, we have always believed in those strong family values that our office motto signifies.

Hi, my name is Rusty Rasmus and am a proud husband and father of two kids. I enjoy going to the zoo with my family during the summer months and catching movie dates with my family as often as I can make possible. I have been a volunteer fireman with the Meriden Fire Department since 2006 and have served as the Fire Chief for many of those years. I also enjoy spending time helping out with our church, usually with the youth. I was elected to the Church Council @ Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee in 2021. I enjoy trying to catch some Iowa Hawkeye athletics action and Miami Dolphins football games whenever possible. My wife Tally and I purchased Sequins Bridal in December of 2019. It is our local bridal and prom dress business in Cherokee and Tally thoroughly loves running that business. She is also what keeps our home and family running with my crazy schedule. My son Preston graduated in 2019 and is currently working full time in the Meat Department at Fareway in Cherokee. In his spare time, he loves gaming online with his friends and taking in Marvel movies with me whenever our schedules allow. His other love is fishing with anyone that will go or even by himself. My daughter Payton started high school in 2020 and loves volleyball and track. She shares my love of YouTube and can’t get enough time being outside with friends whether that be playing ball or riding her moped all over town.
But enough about my personal life and on to what makes me the guy to be trusted with all of your Real Estate Needs and Desires! In August of 2019 I obtained my Broker Associate License to further my real estate career even further. I strive to make every transaction as transparent and stress free as possible for my clients. I know our local market and I have a solid network whether that be needing help with lending, inspections, contractors, builders, building movers, cleaning services, legal counsel, and much more. I offer virtual meetings and showings, even as far as electronically signing on most any document needed for buying or selling. I have been and am currently a part of many groups and boards that include but are not limited to: NWI Board of Realtors, Storm Lake and Cherokee MLS, IAR, and NAR. I pride myself in being that Realtor that can coach you and keep you feeling confident in your decisions from the very beginning stages of buying and selling all of the way through closing. Even if you are not in our typical 30-mile radius of Cherokee look me up anyways, I would be happy to find you another professional in your future market as well.
